Finding Your Harmony with Elizabeth Kelsey Bradley

Recently we decided that we needed to hear more from those inspiring women that live harmonious lives every single day.

People who inspire us and motivate us to find happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

We want to know how they do it and what advice they can offer us.

We recently had a chat with Elizabeth Kelsey Bradley!

What are some of the ways you make your day-to-day life more harmonious?

I love to take an hour long walk every evening, frequently with my daughter. It gets really hot here in Thailand, and because I get heatstroke easily, I need to try and stay indoors during the hot hours of the day. But at about 6PM, it starts to cool off. We walk around our neighborhood, in the outskirts of Chiang Mai.

How do you stay creative and inspired about the things you do every day?

Reading & listening to audiobooks is how I find creative inspiration. I’m addicted to audible, and get two audiobooks every month. I frequently listen to them in the evening, when I’m out for my walk or about to go to bed.

Photography is also a way I express myself creatively. Even though I’m a writer & digital strategist, my photos frequently accompany my blog posts, and even when they don’t, they help me find beauty. I call quiet moments of simple beauty that I find throughout the day the daily sacred, and I try to capture it through photos that I post on Instagram.

What was your biggest learning/growth experience in the past year?

Probably moving to Chiang Mai from Phuket. We crave community and Phuket just didn’t have it. And even though I love living here in Norther Thailand, we’re finding some of the same issues we faced down south, with regards to meeting like-minded creative, holistic families that want to get together on a regular basis. I therefore learned that as much as we love Thailand, we probably need to move soon and be closer to family.

How do you stay focused on the things that are important (love, happiness) and not be distracted by all the drama that goes on around us?

I told my husband years ago ( when we had some challenges going on with work) that no matter what happened, we had our ‘number 1’ thing we want in our lives: eachother. This is still what keeps me motivated, even when challenges arise. Things are much better for us now, but we still have things happen that can be a let down or difficult, but we stay focused on the blessings in our life, like our amazing daughter Kaya.

Simplifying one’s life can also make a huge difference in focusing on what matters most. This is essentially what we did in Phuket. We shared a phone between and for about two years had no car. This may sound drastic, but we honestly didn’t need one; everything was in walking distance. By simplifying, we learned to prioritize what matters most to us in life & business. We’ve stilled held onto our quest to live simply, even though we’re not minimalists per se.

What’s the biggest thing that people can do right now to create more harmony in their life?

Find & pursue your passion. I think we’re all out of harmony unless we’re doing what we love. This may take some action and effort to accomplish, but ultimately, it’s what makes us feel alive and connected.

What are your goals for the future? What have you got planned for this year?

Our goal is to move to British Columbia or somewhere in the Pacific Northwest ( near my Mom and a larger homeschooling community) in 2017. I’m a guest lecturer at a local University in October, where I’ll be talking about PR in social media, and I can’t wait to speak to the students about what I do!
